Kevin Duvernay is the grandson of New Orleans Bassist Otis Duvernay Sr. (Lloyd Price). His interest in music goes back to his early adolesents when he recieved a melodica from his Grandmother. After playing trumpet in his school band for a few years his interest shifted to main stream music, and at the age of 14 he started playing bass. Kevin is mostly known for his work as Bassist and has become a sought-after and respected sideman in the European Blues scene. He has performed on countless International Music Festivals throughout Europe with many internationally renown blues acts such as Johnny Copeland †, Lazy Lester, Big Jay McNeely † , Phil Guy, Big Jack Johnson, Buddy Ace †, Louisiana Red †, Angela Brown, Johnny Heartsman †, Frank Biner †, Rockin’ Tabbi Thomas, Jimmy Preacher Ellis, Dook Joint † etc. Kevin can be heard on many recordings by acts such as Big Jay McNeely, First Class Blues Band, Frank Biner, Los Reyes del K.O., Boogaloo Kings, Dook Joint, Tommie Harris and Kai Strauss check ou his discography for more detail… Although he has been labeled a “Blues” bassist Kevin is extremely versatile and at home in most styles with strong points in old school Funk, Soul, R&B.
